UK-Debbie McGee urges people across the UK to Walk For A Reason

Debbie McGee is bringing a touch of magic to a set of unique walking events across the country to raise vital funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity, after the disease affected her father.

The broadcaster and assistant to her magician husband, Paul Daniels, is calling for everyone to put their best foot forward and sign up to a Walk For A Reason event in their area in September.

The 10km walks will be held as a series of events around the country, designed to raise awareness of prostate cancer, which is the most common cancer in men in the UK. Debbie McGee said: “Fighting prostate cancer is a cause very close to my heart.

My father, Patrick, was diagnosed with the disease ten-years-ago. Men sometimes do not like to talk about their health, but with one man dying every hour of prostate cancer in the UK, we all need to be more aware of the signs and symptoms.

The Prostate Cancer Charity is doing a fabulous job to raise awareness and help men, just like my father, to identify the disease early.

“I am backing Walk For A Reason because it is a simple way for people to do something to show their support for The Prostate Cancer Charity. There are six walks to choose from and everyone who takes part will not only be raising funds, but doing their bit to help spread the word.”
